Daniel,
What a wonderful witness to the blessings of a family grounded in Christ! Your mom was a wonderful example of strong faith and trust which I am sure she learned at home under the influence of Unle Erwin (your grandfather). Uncle Erwin was a wonderful example to me of faithfulness to the Lord, faithfulness to Gertrude and trust in God's love. I am glad that I had the privilege of also being brought up in a home where Christ was central and trust in Him was provided as an example by my parents (Norm and Dorothy Riemer) I am grateful to be part of the Riemer family.....immediate and extended. I hope someday (this side of heaven) to meet you and your brothers as well.
Blessings and peace to all of you.

Greetings Daniel, Steven, and Nathan,

You and your father are in our thoughts and prayers. Your mom was an awesome lady, who always showed me love and caring through her words and actions.

Daniel, your words above are well-stated and inspiring. Your mother is proud of each and every one of you.

Best Wishes for God's Peace,

Your cousin Mike

Dan, I join you and your brothers in giving thanks to the Lord for your mom - both for giving her eternal rest now and for having used her to bless others in this world. I only met her briefly once or twice during our college years, but I have clearly seen her shining Christian example (and that of your dad) reflected in all three of her sons. I can't imagine a mother having more reason to be proud than she had.

You're right in gratefully recognizing what an undeserved blessing it is to have grown up in such a family setting. One of the greatest handicaps I have seen in the churches we plant in world missions is the lack of young men and women growing up in strong Christian households.

God's blessings to you and your family!

I "third" your thoughts -- and being the youngest, I'm used to coming in third. God blessed us beyond measure through both Mom and Dad. We will see Mom again in heaven. God's name be praised!

Pastor Dan is all the above and even more...a humble sinner like the rest of us...he's our brother...Praise the Lord! God has provided Grace with many blessings - some we can see and some we can't see - it is each member's responsibility to follow Pastor's lead and maintain our faith that no matter what the economy may be - God never changes, He will always provide. Amen.

Thanks for these words of advice (whether you meant them that way or not), published on the day that I accepted the call to pastor Christ Ev. Luth. Church in Lodi.

May the Lord continue to work through you to bless his people. Blessings on your ministry and your family.

Your friend and brother,
- Guy
